Mr Adams at the ASECAP Days!

EasyWay Chairman Ronald Adams was invited as a keynote speaker during the interactive session “ITS priorities – deployment cases”, of the XXXIX edition of the annual ASECAP Study and Information Days whose title was “Tolled infrastructures for safe, smart and clean transport” that took place in Brussels, at the Conrad Hotel, from the 29th to the 31st of May 2011.

mr adamsThe session was held on Tuesday the 31st of May in the morning and that was chaired by Rui Camolino, Chairman of the COPER III (ASECAP Permanent committee on ITS policy). The others two keynote speaker were Mrs. Anne Jensen, MEP of the TRA N committee (Transport and Tourism committee) of the European Parliament, who had been Rapporteur for the adoption of the ITS Directive, and Mr. Philippe Hamet, Policy officer of the DG ENTR (Enterprise) in the EC, in charge of the EU satellite navigation programmes.

In his presentation “EasyWay – working together on harmonized deployment of ITS services” Ronald Adams illustrated the main features of EasyWay, underlining the EW long term vision consisting in “zero accidents, zero congestion and zero environmental damage” as well as the EW objectives 2020: “25% less congestion, 25% less accidents, 10% less emissions”. He also gave an overview of the EW Deployment Guidelines, intended to ensure a common understanding and to define commonly accepted key parameters, quality levels and recommended functional-organizational aspects in order EW partners to respect and apply the commonly shared principles and criteria for imple mentation.
