Welcome from the new EasyWay Chairman

Dear EasyWay Partners,

it is a true honour to be in the position of EasyWay Chairman for 2012. I must say that I am very proud of this programme because I had the pleasure to work in it from the beginning and now I am able to see it grow up through time, scoring one by one the goals we set of reduction of accidents, improvement of mobility and mitigation of the environmental impact, through our Core Services. We all know how important it is for us and for our end-users to improve the travelling conditions on the European network, bringing closer the countries of Europe in a coherent and harmonised way.

I think that 2012 is a very important year for EasyWay: the results so far are encouraging, but the whole group and its partners need to keep on working systematically to improve and establish new pan-European services. As Chairman of EasyWay I want to say that, among all, I strongly support intense cooperation between the various EasyWay bodies and the prospects that bring new collaborations, new ideas. We have a big opportunity in our programme to share expertise, harmonise our procedures and services, to put high standards and benchmark our level of services, thus raising the level of all European motorways.

I therefore would like to encourage you all within EasyWay to use our Euro-Regions and Expert and Studies Groups to propose ideas and share results. Regarding this, I really look forward to see all your contributions in London, at our 2012 Annual Forum. It is our most important event each year and it's with this event that we will demonstrate the results and the hard work we have all been doing in the programme.

Finally, I would like to thank you for your continued efforts and your support. As Chairman for 2012 I want to be sure that everyone feels they are part of the picture: we are all a big family. For this reason I assure you that I will do my best to follow all our work and to be present as much as I can in order to give EasyWay the chance to grow, improving the services and benefits on our European roads.
