In 2012 the Congress will take place in Vienna from 22 to 26 October. National representatives of government, industry, and research will take an active part in this event including contributions like real-time traffic services, innovations in traffic management, or forecast studies. ITS Vienna 2012 a great opportunity to broaden one's perspective to the European transport system and see the difference between Asian, American, and European technology.
For that reason EasyWay has presented a proposal in order to held an EW Special Session with the title: EasyWay Deployment Guidelines : Fostering ITS implementations on TEN T Roads.
The proposed Special Session has been proposed in the Topics 2- Intelligent infrastructure Subtopics A. Policy and strategy
Hereafter the text that has been proposed as explanation for the EW Special Session:
“EasyWay’s objectives are fully consistent with both the national policies of the 27 EU Member States and with the priorities defined in the ITS Action Plan and the ITS Directive (2010/40/EC). EasyWay targets practical actions that deploy National and European policies towards a harmonized, competitive and resource efficient transport System. The main objectives of EasyWay are to improve Safety, reduce Congestion and Environmental impacts, and to promote the continuity of services at regional and European level through the coordinated deployment of real-time information and traffic management services for the benefit of the European Road user. EasyWay contributes to the improvement of interfaces between conurbation networks and public transport services by fostering a co-modal traveller approach. From this perspectives, EasyWay project has produced Deployment Guidelines. Why did the EasyWay community elaborate this DG ? What are the EW DGs and their uses ? What will be next step? All this questions will be raised with both partners involved in the project, representative of the EC and other stakeholders."
Normally by mid-April 2012 the organizer will communicate about the outcome of the selection procedure.
