London 2012 - Welcome

Ladies and Gentlemen,

An Invitation

The European EasyWay project and CENTRICO Euro-region are pleased to invite you to the 2012 Annual Forum in London between the 20th and 22nd November 2012.

The Annual Forum brings together leading Intelligent Transport System (ITS) professionals and policy makers from road authorities, operators and service providers from across Europe.

Our venue is the Institution of Engineering and Technology (the IET) in central London.

The Forum will comprise a programme of plenary and smaller technical sessions with papers presented in English by ITS practitioners exploring the use and future use of ITS in Europe, and the achievements and results of the EasyWay project.

The technical sessions will address these main themes:

  • How ITS saves time, saves lives and saves the environment
  • How ITS saves money and delivering low cost ITS
  • How ITS delivers greater transport efficiency and supports the economy

Within these themes the following perspectives will be explored:

  • The application of the EasyWay Deployment Guidelines
  • The influence of the ITS Directive
  • The various roles within the service delivery chain
  • The realisation of benefits
  • Pan-European ITS across borders and along international corridors

In addition, the following stimulating questions will be discussed

  • Where do we need European harmonisation?
  • How long will we need roadside infrastructure for?
  • What is the future role of the road operator?
  • How and who will make the best use of data and information?

We look forward to seeing you in London.

With warm regards,
