The Institution of Engineering and Technology, Savoy Place, London
The headquarters of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) – Savoy Place has been selected as the venue for the 2012 EasyWay Annual Forum. Founded 140 years ago, the IET is one of the world’s leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community. You will find many references to the electrical engineering and communications profession throughout the venue, including a library that holds some significant reference documents.
We have chosen Savoy Place as it offers flexible accommodation that can host large plenary sessions as well as smaller technical sessions. Savoy Place is set in the very heart of London and offers some of the best views in London. The red brick building is set beside the Thames in London’s city centre and the Riverside Room which we will be using has impressive views which includeSaint Paul’s Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and the South Bank arts complex.

The nearest tube station to theSavoy Placeis Embankment which is serviced by the District (green), Circle (yellow), Northern (black) and Bakerloo (brown) lines. From here there are many opportunities to connect with mainline railways stations that serve airports such as London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted,LondonCity, and London Luton. Embankment also connects directly with St Pancras International for the Eurostar to Brussels and Paris.

Our entire programme will be housed in Savoy Placewith separate rooms for our technical sessions, plenary sessions, refreshments, meals, EasyWay information and delegate networking. The rooms combine an historic interior with the light and elegance of modern design and are equipped with AV technology and WiFi access.
