Technical visits

On the afternoon of Friday, EasyWay has organised a Technical visit, in order to illustrate real ITS deployments. This is an excellent occasion to see in practice the systems that EasyWay delivers across all Europe. Below is a description of where the participants will spend some time! The National Coordination Centre for crisis situations of road traffic - Road Police

In January and February 2004, the centre and northern part of Italy were covered by heavy snowfalls which caused problems on the motorway network, with inconvenience to travellers. The repercussion of this situation persuaded the Government to establish the National Coordination Centre on road traffic, within the Ministry of the Interior, planned to deal with any crisis on all national road networks and motorways.

The structure

The National Traffic Coordination Centre is chaired by the Director of Traffic Police and includes:

  • State Police Department (Ministry of the Interior)
  • Department of Fire-fighters, of Public Aid and Civil Defence (Ministry of the Interior)
  • Department of Territorial Affairs (Ministry of the Interior)
  • Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport
  • Department of Civil Protection
  • Carabinieri
  • Anas
  • Italian Motorways and Tunnels Concessionaires (AISCAT)
  • State Railways.
