A Success Story
The EasyWay Award was launched in 2009 to reflect the achievements of the EasyWay partners, road authorities and road operators, in coordinating their Intelligent Transport Systems in the first EasyWay phase 2007-2009. The four Award categories were devised to highlight the overall objectives and foundations of EasyWay: promoting efficient, innovative and interoperable ITS-solutions for TERN Management.
On the afternoon of 17th November at the 2009 Annual Forum Opening Session in Vienna, the CENTRICO Chair Andre DelMarcelle presented a summary of all nominees. The winners were rewarded with an exclusive EasyWay gold star trophy at an official ceremony during the evening event at Kunsthistorische Museum and celebrated by 200 international ITS experts. All nominees received a certificate confirming their significant achievements in this first phase of EasyWay.
The winners received their Awards from several high profile members of the ITS community: John Miles - PIARC and the Award jury, Eric Kenis - European Commission, Andre Del Marcelle – Chair of Centrico, Dean Herenda – Chair of Connect and Bernard Lucas – Chair of EasyWay.
