EasyWay/SERTI (Southern European Road Telematics Implementation) is an Euro-Region involving parts of France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. Within the SERTI area, European stakes need to be addressed in a way that takes into account the following specificities:
- Some strategic European cross-border corridors (North of Europe to Italy and Spain, “Mediterranean arc”);
- Crossing of the Alps and the Pyrenees;
- Large European cities and conurbations: Barcelona, Madrid, Lyon, Marseille, Geneva, Bale, Milan, Turin, Stuttgart;
- Important seasonal peaks (winter stations accesses in the Alps, summer seaside accesses to the French Riviera, Spain or Italy, seasonal migrations to Northern Africa through Spanish harbours);
- High percentage of HGV on the corridors (up to 30% on some stretches);
- High percentage of foreign drivers (up to 40%).
